If there are damages, you cash the deposit cheque and give the renter the difference between the cheque and the cost of making good the damages. To provide greater security for your rentals between private individual, we recommend that you extend the cover provided by your general household insurance policy. Additionally, if there are any damages, you can ask the renter to use their third party liability insurance, whether in a seasonal rental or a Bed & breakfast.
